Talking about the importance of trading psychology

What is Trading Psychology?

Yes, you read that right. Psychology in trading is almost the most essential part, even more so than being able to read charts. In trading the word psychology controls a huge part of the process, that part being how your reacting with and without your setup appearing, how you react to wins or losses and especially how you react when there was no trades for the day.
It entrenches some of the most essential concepts to see any form of profitability in trading. Concepts that if you are trading without, are either currently causing, or preparing to cause you problems.
Unfortunately, your psychology in trading isn't as simple as just watching YouTube videos and learning some extra divine strategy, its deeper than that. It ties back to you as a person.

What problems occur?

Think right back to the beginning of your journey, you probably used to see trading be simplified down into some easy to sell, quick to get rich scheme. The reality is, it was ALL lies. This trend, while creating many millionaires, also created a very common problem across a plethora of traders. Specifically, over trading.
This is a problem that occurs in multiple different ways, whether you were winning and traded to a loss, even if you were losing and trading to a win, it pops up everywhere. This may not sound like such a big problem though right? WRONG.
The mark these "copy traders" left was a terrible way of thinking, which was essentially to constantly have you pressing buy, and constantly having you chasing losses.
This effect has rippled even to this day, where newer traders that didn't zone in on psychology from the beginning are spending a matter of years recovering. (thats a fact btw you can check it)
The connection that formed from this was that trading was easy money. No plan required, just dumb luck, since some of the most low IQ people were selling these signals. That makes traders detach from what trading really is and chase this made up fantasy of easy money, leading to the problem we just discussed.

How does one combat this?

Just like almost anything, there is a remedy to the psychology that is all your problems in one. No, its not a strategy, no its not a different confluence or a different course.
It's getting to know yourself during trading, what your triggers are, where your plan aligns or doesn't align etc. These are all of vital importance, but if you asked majority of newer-intermediate traders they wouldn't have a clue.
Yes its as simple as that. Learn your triggers, learn the conditions that cause you to over trade, learn when that feeling that your missing out or could be making more occurs. Only then do you even have a fighting chance of being able to actually beat it.

Is it taught in courses?

Unfortunately, no.
Not in any course I've ever seen. Technically speak here, it isn't impossible to coach somebody on psychology and strategy.
The important distinction is, it isn't impossible, but as a business model it wouldn't be at all plausible. Think of it this way, you get the option to become a mentor.
You've spent years working to become profitable, and after all your time sacrificed, you choose to mentor. You have two choices, you can actually take the time to take on 5-10 students (from my experience usually people you know personally) and really dive into the trenches with them, help them work on EVERYTHING. The distinction is, there is no amount of money you could charge for this, as it would simply take too long to even come close to accomplishing (although not impossible)
Whereas on the contrary, the second choice is throw together some piece of s*** course, that nobody will benefit from whatsoever. Just simple strategies and some small emphasis on "how hard it was". This business model can be done at scale, as you almost have to spend little to 0 time on properly mentoring your students.
The biggest difference is, one is a get rich fast business (not actually teaching any form of useful trading) and one is a prolonged process that is never really about the money that's why its done on a personal level.
btw, the next time you hear a creator say "of course I cant sell it for free", it means they fall under category 2. Always remember that.
The summary being, just learn it yourself. Even with any course, you still have to do the work, so either start trading willing to do the work to make it, or don't start at all. If you have to rely on someone else, then it isn't your dream, its fulfilling someone elses.
